Team Ninja don’t want to bring back Ninja Gaiden or Dead or Alive
Tom Lee, creative director of Team Ninja, qualifies the studio president’s statements: There are no details or information to share about any of these franchises at this time.
Yesterday some statements by Fumihiko Yasuda, president of Team Ninja, came to light , in which he assured that the studio Team Ninja is interested in recovering beloved sagas such as Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive. Obviously, this aroused the illusion of fans of both franchises, who have been waiting for new installments of either of the two for a long time. However, the studio has clarified today as the president pointed out that at the moment there are no concrete plans to bring any of these back.
Tom Lee, creative director of Team Ninja, who has been in charge of reinforcing Yasuda’s words. Speaking to VGC, Lee explained that although both Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive are very important licenses for the developer, the truth is that at the moment they have no details to share about a possible return.
“It goes without saying that when talking about the development of our past and future projects, these two important titles cannot go unmentioned. However, there are no details or information to share about either of these franchises at this time,” explains Tom Lee making it clear that today we should not expect news about a possible new Ninja Gaiden or a new installment of Dead or Alive.
Will there be new games in the future?
Does this mean that there will never be new games from these series? Tom Lee’s words do not go in that direction, but leave the door open and show that the studio has as much interest as the community, although there is currently no firm answer: “Like many of our fans, we share the enthusiasm for the return of these beloved titles . And we’ll be sure to provide a proper update when that day comes, if it comes.”
Although it cannot be considered a new installment, the Ninja Gaiden saga received the Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection last year, which was not very well received by the community. On the other hand, Dead or Alive did have its latest installment relatively recently: Dead or Alive 6 was released in 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC .
