
Sonic Frontiers will be updated with new playable characters and story
Sega shares the free content roadmap that Sonic Frontiers will receive in 2023, including a photo mode, new challenges, special events and a new story, among others.
Sega reveals through a Twitter statement the complete roadmap of completely free content that Sonic Frontiers will receive, the blue video game that has marked a new stage start for the series, throughout the coming year. The attached image highlights that the first major update will add a complete photo mode and new challenges, while the second update will celebrate Sonic’s birthday with a special event and the third, perhaps the most interesting, will add a new story with new playable characters.

First update
– Juke box
– Photo mode
– New Challenges Mode
Second update
– Sonic’s birthday
– New challenges in open areas
– New Kocos
Third update
– Additional playable characters (probably Tails, Knuckles and Amy for the image) and new story
Sega notes that details on release dates for all of this content will be announced at a later date.
New Santa Claus outfit for Christmas
Before the premiere of these contents, Sega has decided to celebrate Christmas in style with a new suit for Sonic as Santa Claus. This new cosmetic that has been baptized in English as the Holiday Cheer Suit will be available completely free of charge starting next December 21. You can see it below:
An imperfect game, but largely successful
Sonic Frontiers is an imperfect work that has restored our enthusiasm for this video game legend. A title that at all times conveys the sensation of being an experiment, a proof of concept for everything that is to come, but that is also capable of having fun and standing on its own to make us have a great time “platforming”, fighting, exploring and running around Starfall Islands.
