Portal RTX confirms release date and minimum PC requirements

Portal the new real-time ray-traced version of Valve’s puzzler is coming to PCs next week and will be free for owners of the original game.
Portal is one of the most iconic games in the puzzle genre, a work of Valve that has gone down in history and that will come back to life thanks to Portal with RTX, a new version created by NVIDIA that renews the technical aspect of this classic game.
Today the graphics card company has finally announced what will be the release date of this new version that will arrive on our computers next Thursday, December 8 and that it will be available completely free of charge as DLC for all players who already have your Steam library the original version of Portal .
NVIDIA has reimagined the title on a technical level thanks to its NVIDIA RTX Remix modding platform that we talked about in this other news item , adding new high-resolution textures , more detailed polygonal models, more realistic physics, and real-time ray tracing for give a modern look to the puzzle game.
Portal RTX minimum, recommended and ultra requirements for PC
Along with the announcement of the official release date, NVIDIA has also announced what will be the minimum, recommended, and Ultra requirements to be able to enjoy Portal with RTX , counting in all cases with lighting, reflections, and other ray-traced features:

Portal RTX Recommended Requirements for PC
Goal: 1080p resolution at 60 FPS and High graphics
Operating System: Windows 10 or Windows 11 64 bit
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 with DLSS 2
Processor: Intel Core i7-9700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600
RAM memory: 16 GB
Storage: 256 GB SSD
Portal RTX Ultra Requirements for PC
Goal: 4K resolution at 30 FPS and Ultra graphics
Operating System: Windows 10 or Windows 11 64 bit
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 with DLSS 3
Processor: Intel Core i7-12700K or AMD Ryzen 9 5900
RAM memory: 32 GB
Storage: 256 GB SSD
In addition, NVIDIA will hold an event on its social networks on December 6 in which it will explain how Portal RTX has been made and will hold various raffles for the game code and even RTX 4090/ RTX 4080 GPUs.
