Path of Exile: The Forbidden Sanctum is packed with game modes & items
Path of Exile new free expansion The Forbidden Sanctum is packed with news with game modes, unpublished items and more: trailer, details and release date
It is well known that, despite its time on the market, Path of Exile continues to establish itself as one of the most recommended free to play experiences for fans of RPG action in fantasy contexts. After all, from Grinding Gear Games, the developer studio, they want to keep the attention of the players with free updates that expand the endgame content and introduce new features for those who want to get the most out of the game.
And everything indicates that this strategy remains intact, because today we learned that The Forbidden Sanctum expansion is preparing to land on PC on December 9, with a version for PlayStation and Xbox that will be released on the 14th. As we can see in the trailer published by those responsible for the project, this update will come loaded with content with game modes, new objects, new challenges and more.
One of the most notable aspects of the expansion falls, precisely, in an area located under the Ruins of the Fallen Sanctuary that takes the name of The Forbidden Sanctum. This is presented as a roguelike within Path of Exile in which players will have the opportunity to explore a room of the Sanctuary trying to find its treasures, although it is clear that this will take us through several fights against enemies.
However, this will not be the biggest challenge of The Forbidden Sanctum, as this is only reserved for the bravest players who dare to play Ruthless mode. After all, this option significantly reduces item drops, so surviving fights will be more difficult. Fortunately, this is complemented by the introduction of new skill gems for melee-specialized characters and brand new Vaal gems.
Speaking of new items, it is also worth noting that the expansion implements more than 15 unique items that can be found both in the Sanctum and throughout Wraeclast. Beyond this, it’s also worth noting that The Forbidden Sanctum improves the overall user experience with enemy modifiers, endgame buffs with Atlas passive tree changes, buffs to endgame unique weapons, and balance changes.
Path of Exile continues to attract players years after its release
The release of this expansion will be great news for the thousands of players who continue to prove their mastery in action RPG games like Path of Exile. After all, it is important to remember that the Grinding Gear Games title continues to register a high number of users, which became a new peak of activity at the beginning of 2021 .
