Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 could be released in the fall of 2023
Spider-Man 2 will be Sony’s biggest release over the next year, and hopefully we’ll start to see more of the project soon.
PlayStation 5’s Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the only PlayStation Studios game confirmed right now for 2023. It does not have a more specific date, but it seems that it will be the strong launch of Sony for next fall if we pay attention to the information of one of the writers of Insomniac Games.
Jamie Mayer included in his website profile that he is currently ” on the writing team for the upcoming Spider-Man 2 (Fall 2023 release) and Wolverine ( undated ) for Insomniac Games/Sony.” After making itself known on Twitter, the paragraph was edited and only indicates 2023.
The season of September, October and November is usually the favorite to launch the most important games of the year and both Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales debuted on consoles in those months -September and November respectively-. So it’s not a big surprise that Sony wants to make Spider-Man 2 their game for next Christmas , similar to what was seen this year with God of War: Ragnarok.
Imminent news?
The latest movements on social networks and the brief appearance of the game on the PlayStation Store -to add to the wish list- have made fans think that we will soon have some kind of news. A new trailer for the animated Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse movie is unveiled today and it is believed that it could be accompanied by some news related to the new game, which will be a darker sequel, according to the studio.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will pit Peter Parker and Miles Morales against Venom, one of the most dangerous and well-known rivals in Marvel comics, starring in his own film series. “We’re making a lot of progress and it’s still scheduled for 2023. Showcasing the games takes time, effort, resources, and coordination,” Insomniac Games said in October about the absence of news, images, or new videos.
