Flame Keeper a roguelite that puts us in the shoes of a special coal
In the meshes of Ignis, the player must traverse the lands of the realm of Orbis to restore the Eternal Flame and defeat the forces of evil in a full roguelite named Flame Keeper coming in 2023.
The publisher Untold Tales and the development studio Kautki Cave have announced through a press release Flame Keeper, a roguelite action video game that will arrive sometime in 2023 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S , Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG. Below you can see the first trailer of this adventure that will invite us to control Ignis, a very special coal who is entrusted with the task of freeing the kingdom of Orbis from the forces of darkness and restoring the Eternal Flame.
As a roguelite, you’ll need to adapt to situations and engage enemies using a multitude of moves and attacks including punch combos, fiery runs, wide area stomps, and powerful finishing moves that deal massive damage. Its creators emphasize that each biome is inhabited by unique enemies and obstacles of increasing difficulty, so from time to time we will be forced to consult our bestiary to find out the strengths and weaknesses of the creatures that inhabit Orbis.
As in other games of the genre, we will be able to improve Ignis through new active and passive abilities. To do this, we must collect seeds from defeated enemies to learn new abilities and complete specific tasks to receive runes and unlock useful passive abilities.
Other features and story details
– Restore the Eternal Flame – You must search each environment for what remains of its energy and transfer it back to each phase’s Field of Fire. The novelty is that the energy you collect also acts as your health. You have to exhaust it to charge each fire camp, but you also have to stay healthy to explore further. Find the right balance and discover your best way to play.
– Vulpis Village Recharge – At the beginning of each level is the Vulpis Village. The Vulpis are friends with a brave chickadee like you, so they are happy to do you a service. Here you can rest, improve your skills, rebuild and improve structures thanks to the resources you collect. The village changes along with your progress and opens up new gameplay features every time.
