1. Enable Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling

It’s also worth recommending enabling the Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling option on your Windows computer (if available). To do so:

– Press the Windows + I keys on the keyboard to open Windows Settings.
– Now, go to System > Click on Display > Head over to Multiple Displays.
– Select Graphics settings > Turn on the Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling option.
– Finally, reboot the system to apply changes.

2. Set Evil West Task as a High Priority

Sometimes your Windows system may not recognize the resource-hungry game application and the unnecessary background running processes may take a lot of system resources like CPU & RAM without your permission. That means whenever your game needs a higher amount of CPU & RAM resources to run smoother, the Windows system fails badly. Therefore, you should manually set the specific game task as a High Priority in Task Manager. To do so:

– Press the Ctrl+Shift+Esc keys to open Task Manager.
– Now, click on the Details tab > Right-click on the Darktide game task to expand it.
– Then click on Set Priority > Select High.

3.Edit configuration file to change FOV scaling from horizontal to vertical

– Navigate to the configuration file(s) location.
– Open Engine.ini.
– Add the following at the end of the file and set it to read-only:

4.Upgrade to the latest DLSS version

Navigate to your game’s directory and locating the nvngx_dlss.dll file found in Evil West>Engine>Plugins>Runtime>Nvidia>DLSS>Binaries>ThirdParty>Win64
Visit this link and download the latest version and simply replace this game’s nvngx_dlss.dll file with this new one.

5.Fixing the Evil West Controller Issues on PC

One of the easiest methods to resolve the issue is to disable Steam Input. Here are the steps to follow:

– First of all, close the game completely
– Open up Steam and go to Library
– Right-click on the Evil West
– Select its Properties
– Select Controller from the left side
– Click on the dropdown icon next to ‘Override for Evil West’
– Set it to ‘Disable Steam Input’

Many players said that disabling the Steam input resolves their controllers’ issues in Evil West so it might work for you too. If not try using a wired controller.
