Everspace 2 will release its final version early next year
Version 1.0 of Everspace 2 the space combat-focused title will be optimized for the Steam Deck, while early access has received a new update called ‘Ancient Rifts’.
Rockfish Games, the studio behind the development of Everspace 2, has confirmed that its spaceship combat video game will release its final version for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC consoles at a time yet to be determined from the beginning of 2023. The title launched last year as early access and those behind it were pleasantly surprised to find out how popular it was, thanks in large part to its availability on Xbox Game Pass.
On the other hand, the developer has announced through its YouTube channel that Ancient Rifts, the latest early access content update, is now available on computers, in addition to the fact that version 1.0 has been optimized to run smoothly on Steam Deck. “We envisioned Ancient Rifts bringing back some of the wackier mechanics, challenges, and ‘one more race’ feel from the first Everspace that our space game fans loved so much,” said Michael Schade, co-founder and CEO of the studio.
“We can’t wait for the day when version 1.0 of Everspace 2 is released, offering a unique mix of action gameplay, deep space exploration, plenty of activities, and an exciting campaign set in a stunning zero-gravity environment. “He concluded in his statement.
Ancient Rifts New Content and Changes
Ancient Rifts includes new challenges that invite players to kill enemies at high speed while maintaining the integrity of their ship’s hull. On the other hand, the update has also included new jobs, distress signals, puzzles and side quests, while several general fixes have been added to the ships and the level scaling has been modified so that enemies are now “bound to the progression of the world.”
