Epic Games and 505 Games will announce a new game as part of the upcoming The Game Awards 2022. A corresponding teaser website can already be found online. In the end, is it finally about Payday 3?

505 Games posted a tweet on Twitter, hinting at a new announcement in partnership with Epic Games at next week’s Game Awards. Maybe Payday 3? The live-action video has a QR code to offer, and following it will take you to a teaser website that picks up on the Rockay City setting.

If you call up the website, you will see a harbor and skyline at night; there is also a countdown that ticks down to December 8th – and then there will be clarity as to what this project is about.

The domain and the prompt “Visit Rockay City” suggest that it could be an open-world game where you can let off steam in said city. Due to the cooperation with Epic Games, at least a time-exclusive release in the Epic Games Store for the PC is conceivable; a corresponding logo of the store can also be found on the teaser image on the sailing boat.

While some fans are hoping for a sequel to Sleeping Dogs due to the close proximity in design, that’s unlikely. After all, Square Enix holds these rights – and they did not appear in the context of the teaser.

It is more likely that the mysterious project could be the long-awaited heist sequel Payday 3. 505 Games had published the predecessor and the latest action title is supposed to come onto the market in the new year 2023. We also wait for Tekken 8 that is already confirmed, but also unconfirmed projects like Sekiro 2 and Death Stranding 2. Of course we will keep you up to date on this!
