Alien new game could be developed by Grasshopper Manufacture
The yet unannounced Alien triple-A survival-horror would be being developed by the creators of No More Heroes
Yesterday the development of a new triple-A video game from the Alien universe was reported. In the original information, several details of the project were provided, but not the development team in charge of it. Now an update from Tom Henderson, a regular source of industry scoops, gives its authors first and last names: none other than Grasshopper Manufacture .
Owned for a year by NetEase Games, Grasshopper Manufacture is best known for being the home of Goichi Suda (or Suda51), one of the industry’s great creative minds after giving birth to such beloved works as the No More Heroes, The Silver Case, or Lollipop Chainsaw, currently awaiting a remake. Now, he seems to have among his plans to immerse himself in one of the biggest movie franchises.
They remember some of his statements in the spring , when he hinted at the presentation of a new project this 2022. “I wonder when I can announce them. Maybe near the end of the year?”, argued the Japanese developer. It is known that Grasshopper is currently working on five games for this decade, three of them belonging to new IPs, and it seems that this Alien will be one of these five projects.
What is known about this Alien video game
According to Tom Henderson’s sources, this video game will be a survival-horror with influences from Dead Space and Resident Evil, it responds to the code name “Marathon” and will arrive with a large budget behind PC and current generation consoles this coming summer. If announced, it would join other Alien titles already confirmed such as Aliens: Dark Descent and a single-player adventure signed by Survios to be released on PC, consoles and virtual reality devices.
